Flowing in Greenville, SC

Last week I had the exceptional opportunity to photograph Flow Artists, Jessica Wilson and Tim March in Greenville, SC.  We had a great photo session in downtown Greenville, SC.

I didn't know it at the time, but Tim is somewhat of celebrity who performed at the 2010 Greenville TEDX convention.  He also has an extensive history of performing fire, hula hoop, stilt walking, glass walking and fire-breathing acts throughout the US and Canada. Check out his website.

In addition to being a Flow Artist, Jessica also creates and sells jewelry.  Check out her website.

Light Painting with Nick Chin - Charlotte, NC

Nick Chin and I were able to pull off some fun light painted shots tonight in Charlotte.  I had built up a new 3 ft. LED wand that I wanted to try out.  Man, that thing is bright!  It felt good to be out painting again.

B.R.A.K.E.S. Driving School is a great experience!

I know this is not a photography related subject, but it is probably one of the most important things you can do for your new teenage driver.

My son and I attended B.R.A.K.E.S. driving school this past weekend and had a great time.  If you have a new driver in your family, I highly recommend this 4 hr course.  It is 3 hrs of behind the wheel training.  We attended the course at the ZMax Drag Strip in Concord, NC.  All drivers got to experience what to do when a car goes into a spin on wet pavement.  Or what to do when a wheel drops off the shoulder of the road at high speed.  There were several obstacle courses and a quick stop ABS testing area.  The parents even got to drive some of the courses.  The instructors are all seasoned race drivers.   It was a lot of fun!  I am so glad that my son got to have this experience in controlled environment so that when it happens on the road he will know what to do and expect.

ALL drivers should be required to attend a course like this.

To attend, all that is required is a $75 tax deductible donation!  Sign up your new driver for one of the next sessions.  You will not be disappointed.

If life is a catwalk, run like a dog

Some fellow light painters from CrackLightDistrict.  recently posted a very cool stop motion movie by Pahnl incorporating long exposure images created with over 200 stencils.  The video was mostly shot with a super shallow DOF.  Everything looks beautiful at night through fast glass.  Check it out.

Just South of the Border

OMG.  While driving up I-95 this week, I caught of glimpse of this place just as I passed South of the Border in Dillon, SC.  I had to drive a few miles to the next exit before I could turn around, but it was definitely worth the stop.

This is a huge abandoned complex just off the interstate.  It is completely open.  All the windows are gone or broken and everything is trashed.  It is awesome!
